Research & Evaluation

The National Center conducts state-of-the-art research on homelessness, service needs and utilization, interpersonal violence, mental health issues, substance abuse, and traumatic stress. We rigorously evaluate programs and services to maximize immediate and long-term benefits to homeless families and children. As we study the experiences of children and families, we learn more about the devastating effects of homelessness - and how we can prevent and end it.
