Bounce Back

Children who witness or experience violence in their homes or communities suffer immediate and long-term effects that include physical injury, sleep and eating disorders, developmental delays, and traumatic stress disorder.

The National Center designed its Bounce Back program to help extremely poor and homeless children who have witnessed or experienced childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, and other forms of violence. Bounce Back is an early intervention, family-oriented, case management program that addresses the needs of preschool aged children (3-6 years old) who are at increased risk for emotional and behavioral difficulties. The program provides early identification, comprehensive assessment, and specialized therapeutic interventions.

Bounce Back has been piloted and implemented in numerous Boston-area organizations, including Casa Myrna Vasquez, Child Witness to Violence Project, Boston Health Care for the Homeless, Middlesex Human Service Agency, and The Second Step.
